Kids, It's over.. Apparently, since Skins US is new MTV honcho Janollari's baby, MTV has decided (with the lack of existing current programming) it has spent too much money on Skins production not to air the remaining episodes. The network will lose less money 'burning' the remaining episodes on air (with little promotion), instead of shelving the show altogether or playing it only online. However, let's not mistake ourselves, even though they haven't (and probably won't) announce it: the battle for the renewal of Skins US is LOST. Season 1 will probably be its last. The third episode was the FINAL test. From this episode moving forward, MTV will spend less money on advertising and promotion and start focusing back on its reality bread and butter in anticipation of its Teen Wolf scripted release this summer - which will (probably) have the backing of the conservative PTC next time. The third episode viewer 'bump' for teenagers is a PR-play on words. The 'real' adults who are 18+ viewer numbers are falling faster than the preteen kids who REALLY shouldn't be watching - leaving the actual teenagers share to grow by default. Just a note, the United States is a country of 308+ million people, for any primetime show on a major cable network, the audience should be at least a million.

for the love of christ...... WHAT HAVE USE DONE leave the good shows alone and dont try adapt them for a nickeloden type station for fuk snakes

fooooking hell watch the engish version this is just sad..... same story same names same scenes but the same cant be said about the acting screenplay characters backround and people blaaaaaa

@Damo78 Don't forget about Episodes and Being Human. lol I agree. I love The Office (US) probably b/c Ricky Gervais brought it here. All the other remakes are way too derivative.

Uggg as with most things we Americans try to imatate it comes off poorly. Take a look at The Office, the version here is just not as good. Have seen many "original" shows of the UK and copies here that don't stand up to their counterpart. This piece of rubbish is pathetic and contrite. Just a bunch of kids doing their damn silly best to be the next he/she with the "X" factor. Full of self gratification but no one is interested. Like someone else said "Hey MTV play some bloody music"

i didnt watch this episode thinking about how great the other one is- in fact i didnt even know there was a other one until i wrote my comments on this. so thinking it was a original show all the way through it still pissed me off- the acting, language is horribly inaccurate. I give alot of shows longer chances but with the ultimate pathetic that was episode 1 i cant go on- ive only watched the 1st ep of uk on and i think im gonna go wit that

just relized what this show was good for-----to introduce people that didnt know of a uk version to the genious that is that version. Seriously the dude in charge of MTV should be shot in the face for puttin this piece of trash up wit the same name- thanks tommytwice for the info- just watched ep 1, and thats more like it. kiabuni, agree completly should have just introduced us to the uk one.

Show was ummm horrible. its takes alot for me to dislike a show or pretty much right it off after 1 episode but comn. i know it doesnt take much to make a MTV sitcom but this is just bad.. the acting is gross. normally i like this type of show or at least alot in this type of genre but i will not be giving this show a second chance and the scary thing is it prolly will become really popular with the high school crowd. Just play some damn music MTV

i saw the first 2 episodes of this series and thought it was boring and ok. i decided to try watching episode 3 the uk ver (http://www.moviewatch.in/watch-10966-Skins) and BY FAR... the UK version is WAYYYYYY BETTER. us standards of television are too limiting. i love the swearing in this specific episode. reminds me of my middle school music teacher's epic meltdowns.

If you have seen the original...you must compare....how can you stop yourself...watch the old and judge the new....they are the same name and storyline....but the US version has has been cleaned up for the US market..UK version is real and gritty...cant remake that.

I actually lovelovelove this episode, maybe because my expectations were low, or maybe because I like girs, but I truly find Tea an amazing character. Looking forward to ep 3 now! However, I do think that the guy that plays Tony should be on the radio with that face. I'm so not impressed by him. Yuck.

Are you kidding me? Do you really think this steaming pile of crap could be even in the same room as "good"???? I know people whined about the crap acting in the 5th series of UK Skins, but they can win an Oscar compared to these puppets. You know I really tried to detach myself from the original, I watched is an "original show" and even then I could not help cringing at the lact of chemistry and useless plots. It was like the UK producers wanted it to fail. And as for the finale: Where Effy was enigmatic and captivating, Eura was nothing short of comatose and sedated. Was that useless performance towards the end supposed to be like the magical perfomance of the "Wild World" at the end of SKINS series 1? So come on give me bad rating, I do not care. Because whoever thought this crap was anything resembling "quality" then you wouldn't know quality if it hit you smack in the face.
