Its sad that this movie is British ... 6 episodes and then if we are lucky 6 more after 3 years of break :((

This was such a moving episode and sad.

This is not what I expected at all when seeing the trailers some time ago. However it's a good surprise, quite interesting. It features a person from game of thrones. You can easily get attached to some of the characters but be careful when doing so.

Oh yeah cos American shows don't have a year long break mid series do they?

Brilliant! Happened across this quite by chance and now I can't wait for the next episode! <3

This show just gets better and better. Excellent plot in this episode. But even more excellent the conversations about war, justice, and order.

So sweet and sad... Wonderful series!

I hope that this is a series, because I liked it, very much. The Brits sure do know how to make stories that are watchable, and this is one of them.

She isn't just a whore, she's a fool too!!

I didn't think I'd like this show as I don't normally enjoy period shows, but I can't wait for the next episode. I am loving how the characters are getting more complex and mysterious.

As brill as many UK "series" are, I too have noticed that many only run 4-6 episodes per season; where US shows tend to run from a dozen, to 2 dozen, per season In the US. 4-6 episodes would only be considered a mini-series; and time between seasons rarely lasts as long as it does for UK shows.

The BBC does it again. Excellent show so far.

Great show! It's well researched and much more intellectual than I thought it would be. I like thinking programs. The acting is excellent. I was quite pleasantly surprised. It is well researched ( with a few exceptions: e. g. pulling a bullet out of a woman while she is still standing and walking on the leg that has the bullet). I would love to see some of the possible Ripper suspects (e.g Aaron Kosminski) turn up or see some of the more famous people of the day.

they are signed to another year ... only 8 episodes tho

This series is coming along very nicely. Well written, brilliantly acted, a solid police drama set in Victorian London.

Very Powerful episode. This is an excellently done series.

this is a really good show. Profound episode.

Nicely done, has potential. If you like this genre, check out BBC America series Copper. The setting is 1865 New york City. Series is centered on Irish immigrant cops, similar to The Gangs of New York.
