I agree, these two were kind of stupid! Typical 'smug couple' type, nothing can touch them coz they have each other and the money to take holidays all over the world!

If the movie Open Water was based on this story - which I think it is - then it was hugely over-dramatised!!

Bastard killed his 'faithful dog Cashew' to eat!!! And he couldn't even keep the meat down. Not even another mention of the poor dog who tracked him for two weeks through the rain forest just to be killed by him! Have no interest in the rest of this man's pitiful life!!!

Excellent all the way through. Great watch, there was even humour thrown into a life and death situation. A moral issue is at the center of this, I wonder what most people would have done. Would it actually depend on who it was you left behind? I would give this a 9/10!!

This was just riveting from beginning to end. Wow the way things can go wrong in any given situation is just crazy, one thing though, i think sometimes people are just so sure nothing will they are not that well prepared if it does. They were a very strong willed family and had to fight for every inch of their survival. I can't give this away so i shall say no more You won't regret watching this, more than worth your time for sure. 9.5/10

Very good documentary but very sad as well. In my opinion there should have been a better plan , in the event something did go wrong, they had a way out. I would imagine there were some law suits filed in that situation. The Grand Canyon is a very unforgiving place that's for sure. 9/10

you winch the vehicle a bit then you put something underneath it, then you winch it a bit more, put something else under it, until you get to leverage point when just a nudge puts it on its wheels. why has he quit so easily?

what a fing moron, he says hes gonna build a gigantic signal fire for someone to see him and he does this during the night when noone will fly in heli...only thing he had to do is to keep the fire going through the night and into the day when search started, they wouldve seen the smoke immediately. then he says, he remembers golden rule of survival, to stay put, but the moron moves away from the campsite and fire he has started with his last match, what kind of idiot does that?

This is one of the best shows on television, talk about REALITY! I also think this is an extraordinary learning tool not only in showing what to, and what not to do, in desperate situations, it also draws attention to the fact that even the most mundane of events can lead to situations where our lives may hang in the balance. There is something worthy to take from every episode, including how the human spirit and will to survive can overcome through the most difficult and often seemingly insurmountable obstacles.
