Polar bears fighting scene, floating vessel, magical adventure, combine those all and voila! The Golden Compass! 10/10 -- way to go Iorek! :D

ok this movie is missing a lot ive read the book about 10 times & the movie is missing about a 3/4 of the book & its miss some important scenes i give it 2/10

Very dissapointing they changed a lot and missed out some of the best part of the book, i think it was very disapointing in many ways but if they do not make a 2nd one then thats even more disapointing

its funny how on the movie cover the bears armour is gold but in the movie its not

I always prefer to watch the movie before reading the books, otherwise I go into the movie full of preconceptions of what it SHOULD look like and it gets in the way of actually being able to enjoy the movie. I like to see the movie first, enjoy it as a movie, and THEN read the book and find out what they missed. Personally, the only thing I really wish they'd explained in the movie is that everyone's Demon is the opposite sex of the human; it's very rare for someone to have a Demon who is the same sex as they are, and you only encounter 2 in the book. Just a little tidbit I think woulda been nice (especially since I spent about 2/3 of the movie thinking Pam was a girl).

It wasn't as good as I expected, there's a lot of things not well thought out and some of the acting is horrendous. Other than that, it's still entertainment. 2/5

I don't understand why they wouldn't make the next two films, this movie was so great....they decided to stop production because the first didn't do so well in the box office, probably because of ppl like us that don't pay to watch :( lol

Though a wonderful watch, this part one of three trilogy was the only one made! If you read the series, it doesn't even resemble the book, and because of the failure at the box office no ending is in sight! A 3/5 anyway, I DID enjoy it!
