Watch Riverworld: Hale, an American astronaut dies and is reincarnated with other persons who have lived throughout all of human history and end up on a mysterious planet called 'Riverworld'. The humans are left to their own devices and create tribal fiefdoms and succumb to brutal wars and raids. A mysterious race of hooded 'beings' oversee them - sometimes intervening, but their motives are unknown. Anyone who has ever lived and died on Earth comes here rather than 'the afterlife', even an extra-terrestrial call Monat, who had the unfortunate luck of dying on Planet earth in 2039. Hale leads a revolt and joins with others on a large boat to explore this mysterious new world. |

Pretty bad adaption of P.J.Farmers SciFi Saga. But how much can you expect of a TV-Pilot.

For a TV pilot, I thought it was a great little story. The cinematography and vibe reminded me that of Startgate SG1. Sci Fans take note. The plot is interesting and certainly sets your imagination on fire. However where it makes you ask more questions, only leaves you with less answers. The plot quickly unfolds within the first 30minutes, but then takes a backseat for the rest of the movie. Leaving you with only a hint of a teaser at the end as to understanding the whole story. Overall, not a bad film. Would loved if this made it to the big screen with a bigger budget. Definitely a unique storyline I've never heard of. 7/10

Not a bad movie; but I thought it was rushed, not allowing the storyline enough adhesiveness to really capture my attention long term.
