great western really worth the watch

a great western

Great movie even if you aren't a fan of 'western' film genre. But this is a western in every sense! Heroes, horses, bad guys and action all thrown into a gripping story. So if you don't like westerns, think historical period piece, but whatever you call it, this is one entertaining movie.

A Great story, there is something for everyone - You do not need to be a western fan to enjoy this film, but if you love westerns you'll love it. Steely performance from Ben Foster with both Russell Crowe and Christian Bale keeping the tension high and the drama explosive. A must see.

An old story, but revamped! Bale, Crowe and Foster are great and so is this modern example of a Classic Western. 8/10

I agree with regardingwave: this is not THE ALL TIME BEST western; but, I'll say one thing about this movie: It sure as hell deserves a place way up top there next to the other greats somewhere. Because this is a damn good western. This movie goes beyond the western genre and is actually just a plain ol' damn good movie.

It's nice to watch a western film that isn't all formula. This one was more of a character study with the obligatory gun battles fitting in nicely. A very well done movie, enjoyed watching it and will most likely watch it again in the future. 4/5

great film i dont why i kept avoiding this film

this was an ok western, I don't think bale and crowe were that great and i couldn't help laughing a little bit every time i saw them next to each other with their long brown hair/orange beard combination, but other than that it was ok if you're running low on stuff to watch.

i dont usually go for western's but this movie was amazing. Great storyline. 12/10
