good movie, family fun horror, 9/10

I understood the movie. Some films are not made for everyone, and this is one of them. Some people love practical movies, with a simply delivered story, but this is a little bit more. It makes you work your imagination as to what facing your worst fears' incarnations would look like. Very good at almost everything: I didn't like some effects used.

Solid movie, classic Joe Dante in the 80's style for sure. the brothers played believable roles, the girl next door was totally doo-able with Bruce Dern and Teri Polo. The ending was kinda childish but nothings perfect, eerie and thrilling throughout. wasn't expecting it to be that good, but wish it had a bigger budget. 7.5/10

This film was very enjoyable, intense, the acting was good and creatively put together. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Not a gore'fest and more of an intense mystery thriller. Check it out!

very fun and entertaining horror/fantasy, and one of the few in a long time id consider both well done and family friendly. I recommend this to fantasy fans who are looking for a horror film, or to horror fans with appropriate aged children :) Not my usual cup of tea, but I enjoyed 8/10 Julie: "or satans pissed cause you blocked his gate to hell" LOL

really great film had me more and more on the edge of my seat as the movie progressed.. a must see for thriller and horror fans!!

Ha , this one made me jump a couple times. Its definitely worth a watch.

This movie is fun and creepy for teens, and those in there early 20's, you will enjoy this! But for those older then that looking for a creepy morie to get scared from. This aint it. I'm not old, but older! (lol), and for me it was way too silly and from scary at all. At times, it was even comical.

3.5/5 worth a one time watch.

Great movie! I thought that it was going to be nothing more than a lame kid's "horror" flick, but I was wrong. Very good acting as well as some genuine chemistry between the kids. Decent effects too. Even my 13 y.o. nephew liked it!

Its like Disney made a scary movie - pretty lame. It had a few creepy moments but was far from a horror/thriller. Might seem scary to a 4 year old. $3/$10

I see how few Horror movies have the shock value, Alien had it, even Aliens was better to me, as it raised the bar, this movie could have been so much better if it did not treat the kids the way it did. They are in a movie that is a supposed to be total scare, Poltergeist was in that realm.
