Really good movie and acting, great storyline also 5/5

Had a few momements, but not worth it to sit there and watch it through it's entirely. Became boring and no climax. Thumbs down.

Traumatic period set drama/horror. Great cinematography makes it enjoyable to watch, I wish I could say the same for the story, some scenes were more disturbing than frightening. 6.5/10

Ok for a " based on blah blah " ghost/spirit/haunted house movie. Better than most actually. No big surprise regarding the twist, if it was supposed to be one that is. Give it a try anyway. 3/5

I saw this in the movie theatre when it came out and didn't like it, it was rather rough and had a reason why everything was happening but I so didn't expect the ending and I was left very disturbed...not for the faint of heart

i got bored after 25 min even though i persisted.it looked like little house on the prairy whith a ghost as the special guest.

8/10 cos i enjoyed it

Just another "Exorcism" movie! why didn't they just make it as a sequel to other Exorcism movies? Quite creepy, but nothing remotely scary! the ending is very sick though! 5/10

Great twist, imo really under rated movie. If you like twist with some spooky stuff, start watching now! 4.5 of 5 cause its really deserves. Ps: there will be some questions about the movie, i keep asking myself "why?" of somethings but wathever, the movie is awesome.

I love scary movies, but have had a hard time finding one that really affects me. This one, on the other hand, had me on the edge of my seat. It is a little strange at the end, since what I've read about the 'Bell Witch' pretty much had little to do with this movie. Very frightening.

A really good film which could leave some guessing to the end. The description is a bit misleading though, which you'll find out why if you watch it to the end. 5/5

Absolutely love this movie. Good acting, Great plot/story line. Scary the first time you watch it. Not so much the next time. Added to my collection of horror movies! 10/10

it was going alright till the twist at the end, i wanted to watch a film about ghosts not something like it ended up being. not my kinda film at all if it would have been a proper ghost story i would have gave it an 8/10 as it wasnt im gonna give it a 3/10

Almost decent movie with great acting/tors, but still the story left me irritated and bored through most of it. The ending 'explanation' didn't help. Cop out. If you're going to make a ghost story, make it a ghost story. That isn't a spoiler, I am sure, but you will get it once you see the movie. Overall rating: stoopid

Really great movie. It took me awhile to figure it out but I got it. Talk about vengeance, the old fart deserved it. Ending freaked me out though. Excellent horror story! I can't understand how anyone couldn't like it but to each his own.

There is an addition to my review re: historical issues. The best source of information I was able to track down on the Bell Witch is a website of a historian/author www.bellwitch.org. There he sells his book, but the site does have a lot of information about both this film (An American Haunting) and another The Bell Witch Haunting. Good reading!

Im not going to rate this one because the first 20 minutes were actually pretty boring so I stopped watching it but go ahead and watch it.

A REALLY GOOD MOVIE! thankfully the evil spirit has more to do than opening and closing doors. the acting was great and the music fit wonderfully with the movie. this is a must watch movie. i really wish i could find more movies like this.

This is a slow deliberately paced movie that wants to build up to the grand finale. Which it does quite well. All in All a good movie 7/10.

Hmmm based on true events? Not very likely, some stuff may be. It was a bit draggy, repititive, some parts kept ur attention, i actually turned it off, but then everyone spoke about the ending itself being good, were it not for the end i would have given it minus points, it was different, you can still live without watching this movie though, not a must see 5/10 zzzZZZZ
