Not a good movie. if you think that this is anything like bathory you are very wrong. 2/5

Great movie causes of why she did it? mental disorder or her exposure to watching atrocities to the peasant cause by her relatives? .Could the impossible love affair ? Influence the sadistic behavior and lead to curing her own pain in love? Could genetic be the influence? Could beauty and greed vanity be the cause? Enjoyed the movie it a glimpse of the reborn Queen Of Blood...10/10

I liked this. Acting not bad and plot quite good. From what I have heard about her though she did not commit these crimes simply for vanity but for a sadistic sexual pleasure as well. That didn't come across in this film at all. A 3/5 from me.

the movie was alright..not the best but decent...i don't think the characters were fully developed and the ending a little ambiguous

Julie Delpy wrote, directed, and did great work in this, and also composed the score for this movie. Additional songs on the soundtrack are from obscure baroque composers and are really well-chosen. I was really, really impressed by all of this. Great slowly unwinding pace for the story, dark and brooding character development. Shows the slow descent into madness that vanity can bring. Anyone looking for some kind of mythical pagan queen hero character will be disappointed; this doesn't glorify her at all. That's probably why it rings so true. 4.5/5 stars from me.

Julie Delpy wrote, directed, and starred in this interpretation of Erzsebet Bathory's life. She made Bathory vain and foolish and in fact reinforced the lies her enemies smeared her life with. When Istvan is sent to Denmark, he says everything after that he heard from others who had an interest in usurping her great wealth. That would mean what we saw was a dramatization of those lies. The film "Bathory" by comparison is like another story altogether.

Beautifully done movie, the cinematography is spot on, the lighting amazing. Literally my only complaint is when a Hungarian countess has a British accent, but that is easily forgiven for the quality of this movie. 9/10

This was a good movie about a disturbed woman.No doubt about that. 5 out 10 rating.

This is not a standard Hollywood fare but a remarkable look at the 17th century and the murderous Countess. It is an intriguing film with wonderful actors and awesome detail. It is also sad and haunting. This is a must watch for history buffers.

A very interesting take on the Erzebet Bathory tale. I was expecting a bit more of the sadistic sexual torture that she was infamous for, but I think it would have cheapened the film... besides, this was from a very different perspective, rather than her more well known exploits. Very well done. 8/10

True story, of "The Hungarian Whore" Sexy, Sadistic, retched I think she invented the Iron Medan, Very beautifully done for 16 century story line, 8/10
