Wow what a film this is " great Movie will recomend to all my friends"

Say what you will about Bale, but this role is well done. It's an intense movie. We haven't seen many movies from Hollywood about the Japanese occupation of China. This in fact is Bale's second movie about the Japanese occupation. Strong and vivid scenes will tug at heart strings and the cinematography is phenomenal. This is one of those movies that make me love movies all over again. A must see if you have an urge to watch a movie that requires more than 6'th grade education level of thinking.

This is a wonderful, historical film about the "Rape of Nanking". Bale is great but the entire cast was awesome. It was nice to see the focus on another villain, besides us Germans. A definite must see! 4.5/5...

This movie incorporated a haunting mixture of entrancing sentiment and eerie brutality that succeeded in flirting with numerous emotions within me. It is just impossible not to be moved by this superbly acted drama! I have added this movie to my favorite's list.

This movie just holds on to my emotions and don't let go until the end. And even then my emotions are still stirring I feel sad, hurt, happy and overwhelmed by how much this movie and the acting took a hold of me the whole time. This movie is in a category by itself. You will get into your FEELINGS with this movie. 10/10!

I fail too see where you garner the "propaganda" from, is it simply that it's chinese and therfore must contain propaganda? Or are you just a little ignorant of these events. I dont usually go for war movies, specially if there is something related to women or children but I gotta say even though this is a sad story its a wonderful story. Bale does a great job and the cast is absolutely awesome. This is the best movie I've seen all year, the moral value is outstanding. 10/10

i would enjoy a version with subs because i don't understand chinese looks like a good one although hard to watch can't wait 4 it

9/10 i think C.Bale is one the best actors and yet again he performs great...the movie its self is well made good war action combined with a good script/acting. good job with the emotional part...(might think its abit to chick flicky by that but its def still watchable) and i think a pluz is getting to see a WWII movie that shows what was going on outside USA/Europe
