Damn, after reading all that...who needs to watch the movie.

This movie is relevant to anyone who creates; who makes writing or art their passion. Becoming absorbed and consumed with ones work can become the pitfall of those endeavours. This movie depicts such a man whose life is a interruption to full filling his masterpiece. I am not going to say this movie was fun in the usual sense to watch; it was in fact very painful. I stopped and re-started it quite a few times to get through it. After reading Plainandsimple's comment I totally agree that if you were looking for a few at-a-boy pats on the shoulder by hyping on your own flick you are going fully disappointed. If depressing the audience was the point with a unrelentingly poke you in the eye till you die was the concept then it succeeded. 2/5

Low budget movie but I am very satisfied with the storyline. A thought I had recognise someone in there lol!

I thank my fellow reviewers for warning me away from this film & am saving my retinas for something better.

why is it private?

I for one do not understand the negative reviews. It was a very powerful, depressing and at the same time uplifting movie. Writing is one obsession, but there are many others for people who want to be the best at something, or prove something to themselves. It does consume one, and you have to decide how badly you want your dream. Sometimes people get hurt in the process that is true. Martin put his whole life into his pursuit, even if it meant loosing they only person(Kate) he ever cared for. The end was very emotional and uplifting. Even though Kate could not live any longer with Martin and he was kicked out of writing class, in the end you could see that the professor and Kate were happy for Martin. He made them suffer badly but also Martin suffered terribly with his addiction/obsession which was to have a novel published. I truly enjoyed this movie and give it a 8/10
