Great movie n excellent performance by all of them especially Denzel Washington. Bt it's very controversial n rascist. Malcolm X is generally a great leader n Denzel seemed 2 hv lived as him, nt acted him. His acting,body language,the way he speaks n looks all r akin 2 Malcolm X. He should hv won the Oscar he was nominated 4. The opening narration n the scene were his jailmate teaches him abt blacks n shows the definition 4 black n white in the dictionary was highly racial although the latter scene was true. Many of the scenes were so masterfully done. The dance scene in the beginning,his flashback on wat his teacher said a black man should work as n discourages him 2 b a lawyer, the 1 bullet in the pistol chamber n the jail scenes n his speech afta he becomes a knowledgeable person,all tis were very nice n thought provoking 2 watch. Malcolm X had a reason 2 hv so much hatred 2 the whites. His flashbacks n the way many white ppl lead him towards a wrong path all developed the hatred in him. Nice movie 2 watch although many wouldn't feel comfortable of sm scenes n speeches. Denzel Washington's performance can't b denied as 1 of the best of the century. He was tat great in tis movie Spike Lee is 1 of the best working in Hollywood. They r great combination tat creates superb,milestone movies.

An interesting film about a very important man. But wow... Spike Lee's Directing skills are awful! Awful Awful Awful. If you want a more realistic view of Malcom X's life, read the autobiography. 7/10

I first saw this movie when I was in 5th grade. Changed my LIFE since then, and made me want to study, recognize and celebrate my own culture while still being respectfully mindful of the cultures that differ from me. Hence, I have NO tolerance for intolerance. And he eventually realized his flaws in the end too. LOVE IT. Denzel = genius.

this is a great film ..... Until the colour of a man's skin. Is of no more significance than the colour of his eyes,,there will be war!!! (and war in this term dont mean that it have to be physical) there is inequality in all race and we should have all learn something in this movie...we should not divide our self base on religion or beliefs because we all have a common problem, we need to come together and create an equal society.

Being 51 yrs of age, this is the first time i have seen this movie. And my belief, After the man had his own religion shattered by finding out the corruption and wrong doing of his own leaders, After his Pilgrimage and finding the true meaning of brotherhood hey was betrayed by his own race. And MURDERED by them..May his belief of equality live on!!

was only familiar with the history and influence of Malcolm X before I saw the film so I can't really judge it's faithfulness or accuracy. But as a film, I thought it was great. I really like Spike Lee; he keeps things fast-paced and interesting with his camera angles and colours/lighting. For awhile after Malcolm first begins his activism with the nation of Islam, you find yourself conflicted, both respecting the man and often disagreeing with him. Lee handles it well without condemning or supporting really, just showing Malcolm's gradual transition in his beliefs. The inserted documentary footage, especially at the end, shows how Malcolm's words still relate today. Someone commented that they only watched an hour of the movie and Lee doesn't know how to tell a story but maybe if they would be slightly more open-minded, realize it's not a literal adaptation of the autobiography, and actually finish the film, they could understand that Lee does not just want to tell the story of one man but rather wants it to reflect the struggle of a race. I really enjoyed the film; it was long but never slow and definitely worth watching.

Wow! I am speechless! This was an amazing movie. Denzel is always great, but he was even better in this movie!! This is so good. Really stronge subject. A MUST SEE!

as i am now looking to join the Nation of Islam and seeking refuge in Allah i feel as though i must watch this movie. This movie is a visual history of blacks in america forming a nation of their own kind to unite and rise against opression. Altough some would see it as RACISM, i do not. I see it as understanding. During this time Black men, Sons and daughter and grandsons and grand daughters of slaves were giving injustice. For us to rise and speaking against those injustices, could only be right. For if you are beaten, killed, raped, and slaughtered by a people (race) it is only nature for us to call that race evil, or devils, to opress a people and have Knowledge of God and yet treat their fellow man as they did during those times, you would be called a hypocrite......let us not forget what we have endured and the men (and women) who fought to rise up against this evil to bring a history that we still acknowledge today

How fitting that one of the greatest actors to ever live played one of the most influential men in american history? hardly a coincidence...

One of my all time favorite movies, I think anyone can enjoy this no matter race! It is thought provoking, intriguing and well acted by Mr. Denzel Washington. I thought I was really watching Malcolm X in action. Spike Lee did wonderful, a classic. 10/10!

I think it was an OK movie. Im glad he was a positive leader during the black movement and he helped thousands to get off drugs and cover themselves with cloths and stop living like animals with an eye for an eye view. They could live with pride knowing God loves them. Good for them, but that sick son of a bitch profit he has was into women half his age, thats sick and wrong fathering all thoes bastard kids ~My view from Hawaii

At first I wasn't so sure about this film, it began a little slow and it took me awhile to get into the story. But by the end I was hooked! The plot was highly intriguing, and the acting was oustanding! This is a masterpiece, beautifully directed by Spike Lee. It's a must see.
