IMO, this is one of the more successful movies based on one of Stephen King's novels, even if the movie had to abbreviate the plot due to time constraints. I read the novella years ago, and it's stayed with me in a similar way to King's 'Stand By Me.'

I have read the book or short story this is based on and I have to say this is more of a censored version of the book, they kind of skip over many important scenes in the book and leave the movie with little plot. Not the best Stephen King movie.

this is a real good movie, with some twists. it is spokey to think that 1 person could get another person to do something they may have never even thought of using simple threaths. but we all know that it happens lot of times. also how a person can learn something just by lissoning or by seeing how it can work for them, and then they use this on someone ealse. i really think this would be a good for all to watch becuse it does show how this works. pluse it's just a good movie.

Great film with I.Mckellen equally matched by the young bright star Brad Renfro. R.I.P Brad.

A very good movie in my opinion. Although there was not much to the plot, it was still highly entertaining. Kind of creepy. Good acting as well. Definitely worth seeing!

This movie is a masterpiece of psychological drama, absolutely recommend it.

As one of the late Brad Renfro's early films, this is by far one of his breakthrough roles. This has to be one of the most original stories ever told involving present day matters of world war two crimes. Stephen King knocked one out of the ball park by writing this story, but watching it come to life on film takes you on a real journey into the psychotic mind. Also it explores the reality of the powers of brainwashing today's youth.
