You cannot have a conversation about the greatest James Bond movies of all time without talking about "From Russia With Love". Easily one of the top five Bond flicks ever, if not even higher. Not over the top at all; this film is a straight spy story with a superb plot and terrific acting. Two of the better Bond villains in the entire series are on display here: Rosa Klebb (played by Lotte Lenya), plays the defected Russian Colonel who has become an agent for SPECTRE. The really awesome villain though is Red Grant, (played by Robert Shaw), a highly trained super-assassin who repeatedly refers to James Bond as "old man". Tatiana, (played by Daniela Bianchi) is quite beautiful and a solid actress as well, unlike the majority of Bond girls. Sean Connery is on his game in this outing, and at the end of the movie he gives us one of Bond's best one-liners ever. One of the best Bond movies ever, its in my top three. 9.5/10

Top rating. Amazing. As far as "quality", first Sean Connery is considered by many to be the "best Bond ever", and this the 2nd of the Bond films Connery states is his favorite of all, and among many it is still considered the "best Bond Film ever". Facts: The turkish agent literally died before the end of filming, he acted as long as he could on screen. The leading lady was 1st runner-up to a Miss Universe contest I believe. Another lady dubbed all her words in. Her character was based on a real life spy lady during World War 2, whom it is alleged that Ian Fleming had an affair with. He based several of his leading ladies on her, in more than one book. This film also set various "standards" which were incorporated into every Bond film after it. And one irony is that out of all the dangerous things this spy lady did during WWII, she survived, but was deserted by her "outside high-up contacts", left penniless in Egypt I believe, and wound up being stabbed to death in the lobby of a hotel there by a man who she refused his amorous advances. Whew... If the rating system only goes to 10, then From Russia With Love is a definite 12. Enjoy. :)

Great movie. Never realised Shaw played Grant the assassin and he was also Quint the mad fisherman i the 75 movie Jaws. Must have been the hair colour that threw me. 10/10 for another superb classic Bond film.
