Watch Leave Her to Heaven: Novelist Richard Harland and socialite Ellen Berent meet on a train to New Mexico. They are immediately attracted to each other, soon fall in love and decide to get married, about which everyone they know is happy except Ellen's fiancé back home, politician Russell Quinton. However, Richard and Ellen's love for each other is different than that of the other as Ellen demonstrates in the manner which she tells everyone of their impending marriage. Ellen's love for Richard is an obsessive, possessive one, much like the love she had for her now deceased father, who Richard physically resembles. Ellen wants Richard all to herself and resents anyone who even remotely takes a place in his life... |

Great movie. Very classy and interesting with solid performance from Gene Tierney. She kind of carried the whole movie on her shoulder. Really beautiful too. She gets really jealous and wicked in the movie but i agree with her anger at one scene. What kind of people will come to their daughter's private honeymoon? How stupid can they be to disturb a newlywed's honeymoon? Of course anybody would get frustrated at that.

Every so often I enjoy a little time travel, looking back at the past to appreciate and understand more what's in front of me...it's amazing how a movie from 1945 still has so much to offer...watching a very young Vincent Price was a real bonus...incidentally this film was awarded an Oscar for best cinematography.
