Version 3 only had a couple people walk through it. An excellent portrait of a misunderstood man. A movie worth the watch.

this was by far the best movie i have seen in a long time... 9.5/10

How believable is DiCaprio? When I first heard he had been cast as Hoover, I couldn't think of another actor physically less likely to pull it off. But he's surprisingly good. If you are interested in history you should watch this. 8/10

I saw this in theater and I learned a lot about Hoover and it was really interesting. Leonardo DiCaprio was good as always and Clint Eastwood too. 4/5

i dont think dicaprio was the right actor for this im just about to watch it and already i think nathan lane might have been a better physical fit for the part and as i sit down to watch im wondering will they even elude to the fact that hoover was lets say a little light in the loafers no direct proof of course just innuendo and hear say i dont think he liked to dress up but i do think him and his partner liked to do each other.....s hair now and again

it's interesting and i believe you. Actually i felt exactly the same way about the last Eastwood's, hereafter.. I think Clint is a great guy and used to be great at acting and directing..just not anymore.

Founder of the FBI he invented and cemented the way investigations would be conducted.King of the wire taps.He was viciously paranoid and a complete power monger.More powerful then 7 presidents and probably the most prolific blackmailer of all time.With all that being said he was powerless against his mother.Which led to his more then questionable lifestyle.He is the poster boy for the saying "Absolute power breeds absolute corruption".Decaprio did an excellent job portraying J. Edgar Hoover.

Great movie, great cast the director did a fantastic job

watched half and could not follow. could have started when young to old.lost track back and forth. might finish and tell. 6/10

Clint Eastwood is an amazing director and actor. The cast in this movie did an excellent job as well. I only wish it had more depth but to cover such a long career as Hoover had, this movie would have ran 6 hours or more. 8/10

Well done film .. must have been difficult to choose what to include about Hoover's life (and what not to include..)alot missing.. but a very difficult subject matter - well presented and acted. Hoover did have a lot of faults (mostly just alluded to in the film..) but gotta give credit when it's due - the man did do a lot for law enforcement in the states (and others followed suit).. all in all interesting look into the man and the times. Worth a watch (and I gained a new respect for Dicaprio here).

DiCaprio just wasn't the actor for this role. This roll called for a shorter chunkier actor. However, no one comes to mind at the moment. ;-)

It's a bit on the slow side, but the acting, makeup, directing make up for that and I wasn't bored at all. DiCaprio was great in this, but the supporting cast did their jobs as well. Very insightful for the younger generations, I never did know this story, now I do.

Leonardo DiCaprio is a good actor but totally wrong for this movie. It should have been an older actor who is naturally fat with an old sounding voice...

It's not a very enjoyable film, and it's a bit long, but I must say the make-up, costume design, and directing was brilliant. Despite being a bit on the boring side, the film had a lovely look, and that itself is worth watching it for. Highly recommended.

J's family passed for white, why was that not in the movie. 4/5
