This movie is a waste of time, maybe one of those that you put on in the background while you do house work or something. I saw nothing to hold my attention.

It's a good movie in terms of the character development. Sara paxton n Pat Healy's character's r very likeable n they hv a a lot of screen time 2 show their acting chops. Sara Paxton is a very talented actress n she is so cute n adorable in tis movie. She is the 1 tat makes tis movie very interesting. Could hv been more scarier bt maybe tis is the way Ti West wanted it 2 b.

Note: Sheet-ghosts were never scary. Also, one does not generally tell ghost stories in a brightly-lit room holding a lit flashlight over their face. at least go into a dark room, or turn off the lights if you must act like a fool.

This movie was complete and utter crap. I loved the ending, her ultimate fate.

Creepy. Many times less is more, and that's why this movie worked.

everyone is entitled to an opinion, when others disagree with our opinions we should not belittle them. if you read my comment i never put down the movie i just did not like it, or find it at all frightening. well there was one single scene that was a little scary, but one scary scene does not make a good movie. the trailer WAS the best part of this movie, and that is my opinion and i am nether simple or simple minded

It does make me laugh that if you leave a negative remark on something you automatically get a load of 'useless' votes. How is commenting on your honest opinion 'useless'?? They help the next person make up their mind as much as the positive comments do.

I can't deal with this movie - I'm not far in and I'm switching off already. The whole feel of it is wrong, with this silly music and attempt at humour! I don't want humour with horror!!!! I can't stand the girl, seen her before and didn't like her. I've looked on a bit and still nothing is happening, and now looking at these comments, I give up. 0/5

Plays out like a lifetime movie. A couple of jumpy scares. The ending left me asking questions. Didn't really pull it altogether in the end. 2/5

okay it took long to get into it, more than 30 min for it to really get interesting...I like the message it had and it was fun and scary at times...it was okay for me...nothing big but way better than most horror movies out there...

After about 40 minutes, I gave up I was so bored and the acting was kinda forced I thought. Maybe I'll try to pick up where I left off some other time.

I have no idea why this movie has an 80% on RT currently. This movie is so dull and is filled with cheap jump scares until about the last quarter of the movie.

The story behind the story is don't ask questions that you aren't prepared to know the answers.

This wasn't bad. I think it needed alittle more to the story though. It was missing something. 8/10

BTW If you enjoyed "The Ring" (US remake of course), "The Shining" (television series, not the Kubrick movie) and "1408" you will be bitterly disappointed with this movie! The only scares this movie is able to produce is a few pointless "jumpy" scenes which I personally find an extremely irritating and cheap way to frighten the audience.

OK, not a bad movie but not that great either. Could've been a lot better. I like that they at least attempted to go the "creepy" route instead of just going all out gore or mentioning the devil, demons and ancient Indian burial grounds. The hotel needed more backstory. We know nearly nothing about these "spirits" that are mentioned throughout the film. Lot's of character development, which is good, but it's no good having excellent, well developed likable characters if there isn't much of a story. Final verdict: Perhaps a European filmmaker could do us a favor and make a nice little remake for us.

Kind of boring and very slow moving. Not scary at all, just a nice little ghost story. Watch it when you have nothing better to do.

First 60 mins nothing happens, then the movie ends after about 10 mins! xD whats the point? Very slow, nothing scary, ok acting and quite old/somewhat unoriginal plot. 3/10

If your thinking its going to be a horror you be wrong. This what you call a true Ghost story, very well made and the acting is good as the way they pass it off as if it about real life it self. well worth watching if your into Ghost storys and able to under stand the difference between Ghost and Horror. 10/10
