Watch Resurrect Dead: The Mystery of the Toynbee Tiles: Strangeness is afoot. Most people don't notice the hundreds of cryptic tiled messages about resurrecting the dead that have been appearing in city streets over the past three decades. But Justin Duerr does. For years, finding an answer to this long-standing urban mystery has been his obsession. He has been collecting clues that the tiler has embedded in the streets of major cities across the U.S. and South America. But as Justin starts piecing together key events of the past he finds a story that is more surreal than he imagined, and one that hits disturbingly close to home. |

when I saw the thumbnail and topic description, I admit that I rolled my eyes and thought: "someone needs to get a life--referring to both the filmmaker and the mystery tiler. But, I love mysteries and the unexplained and continued to watch. And I am so glad I did. I believe that the person that is named as the tiler is the real one. Why he continues to do this almost 30 years later is still a mystery, but as he doesn't harm anyone, what's the big deal. I may watch this again and me (with my ADD) is saying something. a solid 9.5/10 and worth a watch.

One of the most brilliant little documentaries I've seen in quite a long time: encompassing within it's mystery the depth of such difficult subjects as madness, death and our inability to overcome them.

A really interesting and somewhat sad documentary about a person that cannot or will not live in reality, but prefers to remain remote in their own world, only venturing out (it seems) at night. It would be interesting to find out how they make their living (even their neighbours don't know them very well). The whole story slowly and tortuously unravels, right before your very eyes, however, to spend 10 years of ones life to discover what they did seems somewhat wasteful, especially when their investigations weren't completely satiated. A must watch for those documentary fans. 5/5

Personally I found this documentary to be quite interesting. There are some many things in this world the people do, with many being done known only to themselves, that we don't understand. Is it possible that there is a much more deeper meaning to these tiles? Anything is possible. Then again it is also possible that these tiles are just that of a disturbed person. We may never know....and maybe that it is for the better. Still, I say that this documentary is worth watching, if only for it's interesting factor and for that reason alone, I give it a 7 out of 10.

This was a really good documentary. The investigators had very little to go on, and as it progressed piece by piece you learned a little bit more. Despite not getting everything you want to get you end up being satisfied in the end. I would definitely recommend this. 7/10.
