Definitely lived up to The Hobbit as it should be, Lord of the Rings is better but this is the beginning of it all.

Posted by PATRICIA101064

yes I agree with you. maybe i should try and find some 3d glasses.

loved it 10/10

quality is near excellent but it is taking hours to download and I hate watching video in chunks, it plays a while then starts the irritating buffer play buffer stop buffer play @#$%. If I didn't want this so badly I would just turn it off. Alas I am to big a fan so I sit here willing the download line to lengthen LOl I am certain by morning light I will have it all, such is the quest of hobbit seekers.../+5/5 most excellent film so far.../Laura Just a note this version does seem much more family friendly than the Lord of the Rings if any of you were wondering.

wish i would have seen it in the theater

Posted by dudleybloke

seems overlong and lacks the dramatic flow of the rings films. not bad though.

Do yourself a huge favor. Get some friends together and go see it in the theatre. If you can, in 3D. No, some parts are not in the book. Don't expect a direct interpretation from the book. BUT, it's Peter Jackson. You remember the guy who did an amazing job with LOTR. He did it again. Your Christmas present to yourself (one of them at least) is to see it on the big screen. Now the horrible wait for the next one!

its a little bit slow at times but over all its an awesome movie. it just has such an epic feel to it. not quite as good as LOTRs but definitely worth watching.

Great first part. The quality is a little blurry but still watchable. Can't wait for the next one.

10/10 top quality

Was kinda disappointed with the movie, it didnt live up to the hype surrounding it and it dragged for most parts. It was only when it was nearing the end that it started to get good. Despite my disappointment, it wont stop me from watching the next two thats in store for us.

I just saw it yesterday in the theater and it was great! A bit slow to start but once it got going it was really quite awesome! I'm looking forward to the next one more than I thought I would be.

I didn't watch this movie to listen to fucking Dwarves sing 6/10

Have to say I'm disappointed. Way too long. Not sure how they are going to stretch it to 3 movies, even if some bits of the Silmarillion are put in for history/background. It seemed to drag on at points. Hopefully it fits in better with the trilogy than it does on it's own.

i wished i had seen this long before now, because it was amazing. the effects, acting, plot, everything was just perfect. definitly in my favourites. obviously if you like LOTR you will love this one, cant wait for the next part!!

y is loads of lemmings putting the same comment on diff movie sites about this film?? havent they got there own views? also the RUMOUR was 3 horses had to be put down due to injurys while filming, but the truth(or so i heard) is 1 horse was put down due to a broken hip caused by a fall while filming

Gandlalf looks older "60 years earlier."

Ahhh, its no Lord of the Rings but OK 5/10

Posted by DutchAssessor

I don't know why people complain. This is not as great as the trilogy of LOTR, but this is way better than the average movies you get to see usually. Perhaps this is just my cup of tea. Really love this kind of setting. Next Hobbit movie will be epic ^^

Posted by WildLemon

I like it more than LOTR. Yes, I said it. The Hobbit is just much more light hearted but it doesn't take away form the pure epicness of the film.

Watched it in 3D, and all i can say is: What a journey!!! :))) I gave it 10/10, and can't wait for sequels.

Gandalf is Hugo Weaving, the same actor as in the Lord of the Rings.

a bit long {dragged on}, but a great lazy sunday evening family flick:C+.

I guess I'm in the minority here but I found the movie pretty boring. Was a let down for me.

Find your English teacher and thrash the living hell out of him or her. Revive and repeat.

Like being back with an old and trusted friend. Don't believe the negative reviews, this is a worthy addition to the LOTR cannon.

As a Lord of the Rings fan, I am once again awed and in love with this movie series. 10/10

Posted by Greb

it's a prequel to the lord of the rings. from the same author. it shows how it all started, but also a story for itself.
