Flowers in the Attic: After the death of her husband, a mother takes her kids off to live with their grandparents in a huge, decrepit old mansion. However, the kids are kept hidden in a room just below the attic, visited only by their mother who becomes less and less concerned about them and their failing health, and more concerned about herself and the inheritence she plans to win back from her dying father, to the point of murder...

I remember reading this when I was younger as well as watching the film. Did like the book better, but not a bad job bringing it to the screen.

Another 80s Classic. This movie is a perfect blend of suspense, and horror. The films from this period had such a lush feel to them even though the content was so disturbing, and raw. The books give you more, but I like the adaptation. I think it will prompt people who haven't read the books to read them. Bravo! 10s across the board!

This is going to be one interesting remake

Enjoyed the film, but found it hard to believe that it was based on Truth, Unless The Mother had a mental Health problem of some kind I can not see her allowing or adding to cruelty of this type . 7/10

The book was better overall but this movie is's horribly sad and makes you think about people's mindsets. I enjoyed it 8/10

Another underdog tale. I love it! I do wish it would have expanded more on exactly what the mother was going through outside the attic and if she really had the idea of the kids staying in the attic in the beginning or if it sort of came along the way due to the influence of money and Ol' Grandmother. I have never read the book, so it may explain it more in depth. I'll probably end up reading it to find out. Either way, 9/10 for real life terror and my ever lasting favor of the underdog!

I was amazed by this movie due to the fact that it was kind of close to what i read in the book appealing way of projecting the author literature on the screen. Great actors and beautifully done rate this movie a 10/10..

I loved the book. I've read the series. Movie was good but as always book is better

the book is a bit better than the movie, but interesting; keeps you guessing in the back of your mind but not very suspenseful. it's good for a night alone movie :)

Why would my parents ever have let me watch this as a child is beyond me, this movie is f'n grim. Having not seen it since I was a kid I must admit that I found it both entertaining and unsettling, not least of all because of the whole mother bombshell. I don't understand how this could be the first of five books though, unless the ending was changed significantly for the sake of the movie. 7/10
