With a young DiCaprio nominated for an Oscar after his breakthrough performance here, it was clear he would go on to be a successful actor. Depp puts in a reliable performance as the put-upon son who finds solace in the company of waitress, Juliette Lewis. All three deliver memorable performances along with a strong supporting cast. This movie really led the way for Depp and DiCaprio. This movie brings laughter,tears,fear,and hope! The emotions were captured really well. . Its a movie i never ever thought I would enjoy or even watch but im so glad I did. An absolute MUST SEE!!!

Johnny Depp and Leonardo DiCaprio! What a match up!! this movie goes down as one of my personal favorites. My reasons aren't exact but for some reason this movie is just one you fall in love with. I wish Leo And Johnny would make more stuff together. 5/5

always admired decaprio as an actor but after seeing this i cant help but admire him even more - he nailed such a convincing role here for such a complex character and at such a early stage in his career - im well impressed! i think he stole the show on this one - bravo!
