The misrepresentation of indigenous people made me uncomfortable. Something about this left me feeling like I was on a bad trip for days. Probably the same music playing throughout.

From reading the comments, I was surprised about this movie. I expected the gore, but what I didn't expect was the plot. Those who aren't immediately traumatized by blood, will see a story about cruel westerners trying to force their will on unsuspecting tribes, only to have the tables turned on them. Blair Witch, Cloverfield, and other movies definitely took many aspects of the film. It is unfortunate for the time that often they had to use real gore as the FX gore wouldn't look real enough.

I thought this was a good movie im glad i watched it. I understand people being outraged by the animal killings and i agree but this film is not only showing what people used to do for food and what people still do for food now, animals are being killed every day and just because we dont see it happen doesnt mean its not going on, lets face facts most people like eating beef or chicken ect and do so without needing to, me included and put in a situation where i needed to kill an animal to eat or die i would eat no second thought. I wonder what choice does these tribes have that live in places like this, alot more than me i expect. But like i said no need to kill the animals for movies sake, rant over. 6/10

If you didn't see a storyline, then you didn't watch it.

Aww man,c'mon!!!The f***ing turtles body is still twitching!!Not for the faint of heart.They really do kill animals in this movie.So,if that bothers you(and it did me,though I watched it anyway),then move on and find something else.This flick def. isn't for everyone.

Stupid People With Cameras The fx were pretty good for that time. There were times when the camera moved around so much I couldn't really tell what the hell was going on but that was the effect they were going for I suppose. The movie had a few rather boring parts.Other than that I'll just say "they got what they deserved ". 3/5

i remembered watching this film when i was 12. i felt sick. this was so not for children. not for anyone who has a faint heart. killing turtles,monkeys etc. for real? seriously? raping women. killing babies. geez. i watch gory films but this one was nasty, heartless. no wonder the director got arrested.

that was really powerful stuff and shows survival of the fittest as well as how inhumane people can act in the world being civilized or not not for the squeamish or animal lovers but 5/5 all the way

I guess it was controversial for the time it came out and it still is. i think the ditector is a genius and a dumbass for having all those animals killed but the movie itself was alright

Definetly a disturbing movie.If you can handle gore and good ole human butchering you might like this.not for the sqeemish.Has a documentary feel to it and you could definetly see this happening in the middle of the amazon!worth a watch but probably never watch this twice.

Awesome movie pertaining to surival in a hostile jungle. The characters show how unethical attitudes can cause tradegy for everyone involved. This is a classic masterpiece of cannibalism and a must watch for anyone who likes those types of movies! 4/5.

this movie is AMAZING however not the goriest movie ive ever seen from the 80's but deffinatly worth a watch for hardcore horror movie fans a must see
