This is a great bit of old school horror from the 80's,i remember watching this one when it was released and i think it's stood the test of time well 'cos those little demons still manage to creep me out lol,8/10.

This movie shocked me as a kid because it's an adult horror movie but the characters dealing with the horror are little kids. They don't make movies like this anymore. A fun horror film with some great elements of fantasy thrown in.

Love this movie. I was born in 1989 so I saw all kinds of cheesy horror films from the late 80's as a very young kid. This is one of the first and only movies that scared me as a young child. Not scary to today's standards. But if you've ever appreciated 80's horror this is a must see. It's cheesy, fantastical, and creepy. A small group of children battle some monsters. It's awesomeness. They don't make them like this anymore. Also 'Gate 2' the sequel is a fun film as well. Just my opinion! I don't like to rate old horror films because everyone's tastes are different.

I do not recall how many times I have seen "The Gate" on VHS and now on DVD. The funny story has a terrible conclusion, but the special effects were amazing in 1987. (^.^)b....This cult-movie is very underrated inclusive in IMDb but who cares? I still love this little gem of the fantastic cinema =D

I was watching don't be afraid of the dark and kept thinking the little monsters in that move remind me of something Ive seen before. Now i know after watching this after so many years. great film brings back memory's.
