Masterpiece. This movie is amazing. The acting was amazing. This was epic. The plot was great. It wasn't boring at all. This is a MUST SEE!!

amazing director that while watching even if you aren't the least bit racist will make you cheer for the KKK. Name another director that can do that.

This movie was huge at the time of it's release but doesn't hold up over time, largely because of it's grossly inaccurate historical references. The film did much to advance the cause of racism in the entire country, particularly the south. The ennobling of the KKK is particularly cringe worthy. One of the first instances of the power of cinema to influence ordinary people, albeit in a very negative way. This is, perhaps, the lasting effect of the film. Griffith never amounted to much after this film, and drank himself to death.
