I just think this movie is next to impossible to review... I really couldn't even classify a genre for it so I think Caravel did a pretty good job. As I said it could have been put another way but we all have our own way of communicating. I don't see her going around making arbitrary comments to attack people. Again, this all sounds like jealousy; she's smart... oh no, she want's to use this intelligence.. BLASPHEMY!!! Let's nail her to the cross! I'm tired of useful comments and contributors being attacked for no logical reason.

Exceptionally artsy, warm and surreal. Apart from the abrupt/awkwardly written ending, I really liked the visual style. A dreamer's daydream. Charlotte Gainsbourg is absolutely amazing too.

While it is a gem, this film and its protagonist are disturbed/disturbing, and on multiple levels. And I believe they are meant to be, though, maybe a better job could have been made of demonstrating how socially dysfunctional it/he is intended to be. That said, the filmmaker, though clumsy with the technique (IMHO) DOES conveys that, and conveys it pretty explicitly in places. I am not sure how that is missed so much. My best advice: keep your eyes on the small details, because there are so many things that add up. One thing I would discourage is listening to all the comparisons to Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, at least, if you have an exacting mind, b/c they are really dissimilar beasts at heart. Too, Eternal Sunshine was deft from start to finish, and this film is more clumsy and gangly than that--the comparisons are really more superficial than you're led to believe (I was disappointed more in this film than I should have been b/c of those comparisons). Anyway, I think too much was left on the editing floor, and as Eternal Sunshine is in a tie as my all-time favorite movie, I can't honestly say this one is that kind of caliber, though it is very good: 7/10.

I loved all the characters with their social inadequacies/issues, why? No one is perfect on a social level. The two leads were excellent i.e. very believable in an unbelievable/dream-like setting. I think it reminded me of when I was a child, making up stories and acting them out. I was intrigued from start to finish. 4/5

Not sure which one I love more, this or eternal sunshine of the spotless mind. There's so many overlapping themes and techniques. So creative and quirky. 10/10!

I don't know, if you saw the movie it makes perfect sense. If your talking about the context in which the writer chose to deliver the message well yes it could have been put in Layman's terms. But whatever the case I felt it explained a very complicated movie in great detail which is something I definitely couldn't do. This one was hard to put into words but definitely worth a watch in my opinion
