As with most adaptations from books something sometimes gets lost in translation,meaning that unless you've read the story you'll probably find the movie to be a bit shallow,with little background to the characters or the history of the Cthulhu mythos.If you are a fan of Lovecrafts you will love this movie,philistines oops i mean those that haven't read Lovecraft may find the movie goes little above their heads.

A great horror movie based on a short story by H.P.Lovecraft the creator of the Cthulhu mythos.After a boating accident Paul Marsh meets the girl that he's been dreaming of but she turns out to be anything but the girl of his dreams,this is a must watch for all Lovecraft fans,8/10.

Ok, all of you that say this movie is a great horror movie etc. must be out of your minds! This is perhaps one of the worst movies I've ever watched and could only make it through the first 36 minutes of it, and that by will power alone. I kept hoping I'd find something worthwhile in it. The acting is incredibly amateur, the photography abysmal and the special effects i.e. gills on the hotel deskman and webbed fingers on the padre were incredibly cheesy looking. Some of you need to stick to comedies or something!

Not the best Lovecraft's short story adaptation, just like most of the Mo vie debeuts really. It does no follow the original short story completely however if you are a Lovecraft fan it is worth a watch just for the Monster design/ conceptology (No mater how disappointing). Out of 10 i would this movie 4 but take one point away for the awful script work and acting so 3/10

The only proper adaption of a Lovecraft story I've ever seen - the only real change is that the original was set in the mythical (?) town of Innsmouth, in massachussets - no-one today would really believe a massachusets town could be so isolated from the rest of the world - so moving it to a backward spanish village is a good decision. If you've read any lovecraft, you'll love this! 5/5

Always did like H.P.Lovecraft. This was a little slow for my liking but the story line was interesting and a nice different type of spin on the whole cutesy mermaid idea. The acting was kinda of bad but over all it was a good one time watch.

Good movie. I didnt expect much going in but it played out pretty good. The protaganist did a good job as well.

Another lost soul. You get to watch 74 minutes on megavideo and after that if you simply reset your router or modem can watch another 74.

Good adaptation, liked the movie a lot. If you like H P Lovecraft you will like the movie.

The movie was great..It did not have a boring moment..The movie kept moving and the creeps kept coming..I give it 9/10..

OMG the most weirdest and boring movie ever. it takes like forever so i passed out and woke up and it was still going on so i know the end im pretty sure i didnt miss much inbetween. If you want to have a WTF moment then yea just watch this movie. IT has good moments but to me it took way to long to get to the point.

very good horror movie, h.p Lovecraft knew what he was doing when he was writing I love his stories so much. the movie itself had really bad action(fighting) scenes but that wasnt the point of the movie anyway so none of that matters. If you like horror then read or on youtube listen to h.p Lovecraft its really good.
