Watch Mangue Negro: A poor community in the remote state of Espirito Santo, Brazil, ekes an existence by fishing and picking crustaceans from the local tropical mangroves. A unique spin on the zombie/horror movie genre. Even though all of the elders in town looked like Yoda from Star Wars, it was still an entertaining watch. The dead rising in a small mud covered town where signs of life is dissapearing more and more each day. Luis becomes a quite remarkable character in this crazy dark, and creepy film. And Ms. Benedita breaths life into her role through what seems to be tons and tons of really bad latex and make up. I truly enjoyed watching this movie even though alot of the special effects seemed cheezy! In a strange way, it added to the overall aviance of this spooky little tale!

well, what can I say, this movie was stupid. Im glad I was drunk to sit through the whole thing .

What can I say this movie was a good for a one time viewing. It had a slow start but then it picked up. There was a lot of chaotic camera work and the music reminded me at times of watching a horror movie from the 60's. One of those old Bela Lugosi films. The special effects were cheezy but funny at times. I enjoyed watching this also because it is a Brazilian film, I just love foreign cinema.
