I love this movie, is one of my favorites and I've seen it many times. The first time I've seen it was in my childhood and I fell in love with mermaids. Always wanted to be a mermaid after seeing this. Great love story, with good acting, the effects are good. Lovely to see acting the young Tom Hanks. I give this movie a 9/10.

I haven't found the real mermaid tale. You know that one when she gives herself up to save her lover from death. And she has to return to the sea and has to become the white crest of the waves. That's so tragic and romantic. But this movie is entertaining too. I always thought Derryl and Tom are a georgious couple! 7/10

Tom Hanks rocks!! This is a great movie. Very good romantic comedy. Pretty funny. And definetly entertaining!! Wonderful plot. This is worth a try.

This is such a classic! This made me wonder if there are real mermaids.

An absolute classic 5/5 stars! A boyishly handsome Tom Hanks at his best with the youthfully gorgeous Darryl Hannah! The story is simple which is what I think made this movie such a hit, but the special affects at the time were also outstanding. The way Darryl Hannah seemed so comfortable under water for long periods was mesmerizing. I kept looking at her face to see if she was uncomfortable at any time but you could not tell at all. This is one of my all time favourites and I will continue to watch this movie until I am old and grey :D Good memories of my childhood as well.

The mermaid features were really well made. The story very sweet, snd inspired me to write a story about mermaids :D

Great Tom Hanks film. I enjoy watching some of his older films, I think they are funny and entertaining. Loved the plot, very cute and original. Only Ron Howard could make a movie about a mermaid actually be good! Nice for the whole family. Highly recommended!

I hated this movie as a kid, and i hate it now. What an ugly mermaid Daryl Hannah makes. Its movies like this that make me happy that we're out of the 80's.
